Horses

Perspectief

Foaled in 2010, Perspectief — affectionately known as “Brody” — was a ¾ Friesian, ¼ Arabian gelding. His sire was Uko, a full-blood Friesian from Okjen Farms, and his dam was Romee, our beloved mare who was half Arabian and half Friesian.

Brody stood 16.2 hands high, carrying the strength of his Friesian heritage along with the loyalty and heart of his Arabian blood. He was registered with the Friesian Sporthorse Association and received light training in dressage, but his greatest role was serving our family on the ranch.

Brody was a horse with a natural presence. Other horses would stop to watch him, and once even a herd of bison parted to let him through. His strength, quiet confidence, and loyalty made him unforgettable.

Sadly, Brody passed away in 2022 due to colic. He was laid to rest in a meadow, beneath a great tree and under a marked boulder — a place where his presence will always remain part of Brush Springs.

Lady Lorelei

Foaled August 5, 2011, Lady Lorelei is a FHANA-registered mare sired by Lolke 371 Sport and out of Jocoba Aleida. She stands 16.1 hands high and reflects the Friesian’s elegant sport type with her refined head, swan-like neck, and flowing feather.

Lorelei is calm by nature, yet she carries a showy presence when the moment calls — a mare with quiet dignity and the spark to entertain. She has been a devoted and patient dam, producing two healthy foals, her most recent being Aurora Avail in 2024.

To us, Lorelei is not only a foundation mare but also a companion whose grace continues to enrich the Brush Springs story.

Aurora Avail

Foaled on May 10, 2024 under the shimmering Northern Lights, Aurora Avail is a FHANA-registered filly sired by Thorben 466 Sport‑Elite AAA KFPS‑Approved, and out of Lady Lorelei. Known for excelling in dressage, show driving, and driven dressage, Thorben 466 is celebrated for passing on sport ability, an exceptional walk, and a striking jet-black coat bpfriesians.com+5bpfriesians.com+5bpfriesians.com+5.

Although still a yearling, Aurora has shown a calm and well-minded nature. Attentive and quick to learn, she delights in companionship—and seems to bring a peaceful calm to her dam, Lorelei. Her refined head, elegant ears, and gentle demeanor suggest a thoughtful presence.

We look forward to raising Aurora at Brush Springs, training her alongside Lorelie, and watching her grow into a worthy representative of the Friesian spirit.
