We are nestled in the peaceful countryside of McLoud, Oklahoma, where Brush Springs Stables takes its name from Brush Springs Creek that flows through our property. This land holds a special place in my heart, as I was born and raised here. In 2017, we began construction on the barn, slowly shaping it into more than just a barn — it has become a place of rest, hope, and heritage.
Privately owned by Cory and Melody Martin, we have owned Friesian horses for decades. Since 2002, we have cared for Friesian Sporthorses, and in 2022, we welcomed our first purebred Friesian. Over the years, we’ve raised two Sporthorse foals and one full-blood Friesian foal.
Life at Brush Springs moves at a quiet rhythm — centered around family, horses, and the nature around us. Families of deer graze in the pastures, hawks circle the skies, and sometimes even bald eagles and herons visit the pond. Each season brings its own reminders that this land is alive and worth tending with care.
The barn itself is a labor of love, built with family help and designed to blend function with warmth and tradition. It includes comfortable stalls, space for training and riding, and details that reflect our family’s history — repurposed wood from the old granary to heirloom stained glass, a piece passed down through four generations.
Whether nurturing our horses, tending the land, or sharing the quiet beauty of this place, Brush Springs continues to grow with us. We leave spaces where wildlife can make their homes and flag sapling trees, because caring for what God created is part of the same stewardship we give our horses. Brush Springs is, at its heart, a place of care — of creation, compassion, and healing — and a reminder that even simple, steady love can hold deep meaning.
